Known for being semi-thornless, Captivator is one of the finest gooseberry varieties.  The European parent has large berries and the American parent has great hardiness and both of these traits show up in the Captivator...large berries and hardy to -40 C.(zone 2)
The fruit is dark red and relatively sweet. This variety is also disease resistant. An excellent all-around variety! Best for fresh eating or amazing jam.
